In November 2022, QMD and private equity firm, 3i, entered into an agreement to sell QMD’s Precision Components business to Cirtec Medical. The transaction is complete and the business, consisting of Centers of Excellence in Sturtevant, Wisconsin and Rock Hill, South Carolina, is legally and operationally part of Cirtec Medical as of January 30, 2023.
Also as of January 30, the QMD Catheter Technologies business became a stand-alone company and retains the QMD name.
David Lustig, formerly QMD Catheter Technologies General Manager, has been selected to lead the QMD stand-alone company as President, reporting directly to the organization’s Board of Directors.
According to David, “QMD is a lean and agile organization whose leaders and highly engaged employees from across the globe will continue to focus on executing the double-digit annual growth strategy following the plan which was developed in 2020.”
The strategy includes:
- Strengthening the Vascular business by opening new markets in Asia and leveraging QMD’s unique solution offered by the PTA product line.
- Global expansion of the Degania business with a focus on the US market, through the launch of new products and E2E solutions for our customers.
- Expanding QMD’s strong Biometrix portfolio and introducing the business to new markets such as the Middle East and South America.
- Continuing enhancement of the company’s Quality & Compliance capabilities with the goal of using these capabilities as a competitive advantage in providing high quality products to patients.
